    • Synthesis of metal complexes of 5-nitroimidazoles (Ornidazole and Tinidazole); determined their crystal structures and performed detailed characterisations involving the use of several instrumental techniques.

    • Studied the electrochemical behaviour of ornidazole and its metal complexes using cyclic voltammetry in different solvents.

    • Investigated the interaction of nitro-radical anion generated either on the 5- nitroinidazoles or on metal complexes of 5-nitroinidazoles with nucleic acid bases (that was followed with the help of HPLC) and on calf thymus DNA (that was followed using fluorescence spectroscopy using ethidium bromide).

    • Investigation on gamma radiation damage of nucleic acid bases

    • Experience in working with instruments and techniques like HPLC, cyclic voltammetry, Fluorescence spectrophotometer, single crystal X-ray diffraction, mass spectrometry, FT-IR spectrophotometer, UV-Vis spectrophotometer, thermo-gravimetric analysis.
