About Philipp

I'm a Mechatronics & Electronic Systems engineer (M.Eng., TH Nuremberg, 2026) with a background that spans both the hardware and the software side of technical systems.

My thesis focused on automated detection and alignment of polarisation-maintaining optical fibres for neutral-atom quantum computers – a project that combined machine vision (Python, OpenCV), precision mechanics, and laboratory instrumentation. Alongside that, I worked as a research assistant in a photonics lab, designing and manufacturing 3D-printed fixtures and precision mounts for optical components.

Earlier, I spent several years at Fraunhofer Institute EZRT in CT and X-ray measurement technology – operating CT systems, processing scan data, and developing hardware components for X-ray setups. I also built a 3D-printed pipetting robot to automate PCR workflows in a biomedical context.

My value is at the intersection: I understand the physical system, which means I can automate it meaningfully, not just technically. I'm not a software developer by training, but I use Python daily for measurement automation, image processing, and data analysis – and I work efficiently with modern tools.

I work remotely or on-site in Germany and remote in whole Europe. I communicate in English and German; French in progress.
