- Hired the initial team of data scientists, BI developer, and data-engineers.
- Built 1st data warehouse pipeline using python, redshift, AWS lambda, Kinesis.
- Worked on demand prediction (time-series based python model, etc), fleet rebalancing (OSMNX, non-negative matrix factorization), break planning optimization ( non-linear objective using an open-source JVM-based tool called Optaplanner).
- We rewrote the optimizer in Rust for performance, which is still the tool of choice at MOIA for optimization work.

E-Farm had just one data science team, managing several data science projects. The most important project was a model for predicting the price of used farm machinery, (a farm-machinery depreciation estimator). The team had already developed a decent, but costly Vertex AI-based ML model. Management wanted something cheaper, simpler, and easier to adjust to different business cases.
I worked with another data scientist to reverse engineer where most of the model's predictive power came from, and eventually we managed to match the neural net model performance with a (fairly) simple linear model.
Technologies: Data Science: Python, Pandas, Numpy, Scikit-learn, SpaCy. Infra (GCP): BigQuery (SQL), Vertex AI, Cloud Run, docker, git.
Hamburg I joined MOIA as they were launching their first test in Hanover. I helped set up the initial DWH in Redshift, hired several data scientists, engineers, and analysts. I then worked on fascinating projects such as: Demand Prediction, Fleet Rebalancing (redistributing vehicles using temporal-spatial demand and supply diffs), Vehicle Supply Optimization (online, local-search based discrete optimization of break locations). I also successfully co-created and pitched a 12 month product development roadmap for the team.
