Kai Rump

As an independent industrial designer, I support companies in developing meaningful and marketable products through holistic design consulting. From early ideation and concept development to design strategy, project coordination and visualization, I help transform abstract ideas into clear, compelling solutions. My work bridges creative design thinking with business goals, enabling startups and established brands alike to bring products to life with confidence and clarity.

At Studio F. A. Porsche, I was responsible for the end-to-end design of consumer and lifestyle products, from the first sketch to final production. I led concept development, 3D modeling, and design visualization across multiple projects, collaborating with international clients and engineering teams. My work focused on creating timeless, functional, and brand-aligned designs with a high level of precision and attention to detail. This experience deepened my expertise in premium product development, design for manufacturing, and holistic design strategies.

As part of the industrial design team, I supported the early-stage development of the Sonos Arc soundbar. My role included sketching, 3D modeling (CAD), and visualizing product concepts to explore form, function, and user interaction. I worked closely with design leads and cross-functional teams to translate initial ideas into tangible directions, contributing to a product that is now globally recognized. This internship sharpened my skills in premium consumer electronics design, collaborative workflows, and design-driven storytelling.
