- Bertrandt technologies Spain SL.Robotics software EngineerJanuary 2022 - January 2023 (1 year)During my time with Bertrandt technology Spain, I took on a pivotal role in a project focusing on the development of software for a small autonomous robot. My core contributions included designing and implementing lane detection algorithms using cutting-edge deep learning neural networks. Additionally, I spearheaded the creation of various computer vision applications to enhance the robot's functionality and played a key role in the rigorous testing and debugging phases, ensuring the software met stringent performance and reliability standards.
- AirbusRobotics software Engineer dronesJanuary 2023 - April 2024 (1 year and 3 months)Subsequently after working in bertrandt internal projects, I transitioned to a work on a Airbus defence and space project, in the development of software for military Unmaned Air Vehicles (UAV) and Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). In this role, I significantly developed and refined my programming skills across various languages and frameworks, including C++, C, Python, ROS 2, Protocol Buffers, Docker, Qt, and many others.
- Sphaira Medical gmbhRobotics Engineer autonomous vehiclesApril 2024 - Today (2 years and 2 months)Berlin, GermanyAfter working at Airbus, I was eager for new challenges and decided to move from Spain to Germany to join Sphaira Medical GmbH, a startup, as Lead Robotics Engineer. In this role, I led the development of an autonomous vehicle designed for intrahospital transportation of both patients and goods. I was the first engineer of this project and started to create the robot from zero, I was responsible for integrating various hardware components including LiDAR sensors, cameras, motor controllers, NVIDIA computers, and Raspberry Pi boards into a mobile platform, and for developing all the necessary software to enable full autonomy. This involved setting up ROS 2 Humble and the Nav2 navigation stack, connecting and calibrating all sensor inputs, integrating third-party localization and navigation systems, and designing custom algorithms for obstacle detection, obstacle avoidance, and human detection. A major milestone of the project was a successful live milestone demo at UKSH, Germany's second-largest university hospital, where we showcased the robot's navigation and obstacle avoidance capabilities in a real-world hospital environment. I coordinated entirely this milestone, and we successfully passed all the requirements and achieved the milestone, receiving economical retribution from the hospital. Working in a startup also allowed me to grow beyond pure software development. I gained hands-on experience in hardware design, electronics, and electrical systems, while also expanding my skills in team leadership and project management. To support this growth, I completed multiple team management courses. Additionally, I contributed to other teams within the company, playing a key role in the certification of the P1 Moby Germany's first Class I medical device designed for isolated patient transport within hospitals.
