- Work on ClimateEcosystem Research Lead - VolunteerRESEARCHJanuary 2022 - Today (3 years and 2 months)San Francisco, United StatesOur mission is to make climate work mainstream! As the research lead, I lead a team of mixed methods researchers to understand better the experiences of jobseekers, employers, founders, and key actors in the climate ecosystem so that we can get more people dedicating their careers to high-impact climate action. So far I have:- Set our yearly OKRs and roadmap- Launched the first research project to learn about the experiences of climate job-seekers, their motivations, needs, and barriers they face in finding climate work.- Built a system for tracking research questions, assumptions, and supporting evidence- Created a research repositoryThis work will inform and improve the services offered by Work on Climate, and aim to energize other organizations in the ecosystem to tackle the barriers to get a critical mass of talent working on climate solutions.
Eugene Kirpichov and 1 other person have recommended Joshua
Joshua has a rare combination of skills - user research, design, group facilitation, general "people stuff", and others, not to mention an incredible work ethic - that makes him able to single-handedly pull off or lead the full lifecycle of complex and multi-sided efforts: for example, coordinating a group's work on conducting a research study, compellingly explaining the findings in visual form, and conducting group activities around disseminating the findings and acting on them.
This combination of skills is of great value in the role of a team lead in general - it's obviously a role that requires a lot of explaining and group facilitation.
It's been a real joy working with Joshua on this, there's so much I get to learn from just observing his work.
