Skill set (17)
Christopher in a few words
’m a UI designer with a Fine Arts background, specifically in photography and moving images. Not only do I possess the skills to animate 2D design, but I can also edit photos and videos to turn the design into something more substantial for clients. My background as an artist includes bringing new perspectives to projects, being adaptive to changing situations, and collaborating. I also have a background in anthropology that gives me experience in intercultural interactions and inclusiveness. I am curious, adaptive, and patient which is advantageous for projects that require a more exploratory character.

The skills that I can bring to the table include:

Designing with Sketch, Figma, and Adobe XD
Creating Videos and Animation with Adobe Premiere and After Effects
Creating User flows, Personas, Mood boards, Stories, and Sitemapping
Wireframing and Prototyping
Creating presentations with mockups and videos
Research: testing prototypes, evaluating designs
Copywriting
Language skills: English, German, Mandarin, Japanese, Taiwanese
Collaborative, engaging, and self-motivated work style

As a UI designer, I hope to work with a team that is interested in innovating the digital landscape around us. We have become more and more dependent on technology in order to assist us in living in a more sustainable and efficient world. I’m interested in bridging this connection on a social level so that we can all maximize the quality of life whether it is in the field of entertainment, culture, economics, sustainability, or education. Please take a look at my portfolio: I’d love to engage with you and have a conversation about my portfolio so that I can show you want I could possibly bring to your team or project!
Recommendations
Education
  • MFA Photographic and Electronic Media
Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA)
    2014
The education I received at MICA was quite broad in the sense that it covered the fundamental basis of imagery using technological means outside of traditional painting and sculpting. Although the program did cover some aspects of analog photography and film, there was a much heavier focus on digital processes. Workshops focused on photography, filmmaking, video making, sound, 3D printing, installation, electronic design, hardware hacking, and coding. My focus has been particularly in photography and moving imagery. The primary programs that were used were Adobe creative suite and Pro Tools. Another element of the program requited critical studies in aesthetics as well as contemporary studies of broad subjects ranging from gender studies, propoganda, LGBTQI studies, etc... One critical element was a seminar that focused on the history of art using technology starting from the first mass production of art thanks to the printing press.
  • BA Anthropology
    University of Central Florida (UCF)
    2006
The Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology was heavily focused on cultural and linguistic anthropology. My seminars included a focus on methodology in understanding various cultures and analyzing data. Regarding the linguistic part of the degree, I was required to look at the relationship between language and culture with an emphasis on understanding how the two are intertwined. Furthermore, the program also required courses in archaelogy and paleoanthropology.
